Shoreham beach will play host this coming weekend to the ‘World’s Biggest Beach Clean’, which is supported by Mackley and a number of other organisations.

Mackley, working as sub-contractor to Balfour Beatty*, has recently completed the Coldharbour Flood Wall Remediation and Foreshore Protection Works on the River Thames on the Isle of Dogs.

Work is underway on phase one of a major beach recycling project which, when complete, will provide improved protection against flooding to approximately 5,500 homes located in and around the town of Sheerness.

Emma Howard-Boyd, Chair of the Environment Agency, was given a tour of the Shoreham Adur Tidal Walls site as part of a recent visit to the scheme.

With 50% of the work on the Shoreham Adur Tidal Walls scheme now complete, construction is expected to finish by the end of 2018.

2018 looks set to be another busy year for Mackley’s marketing and business development teams, with participation in a number of important industry events already confirmed.

Mackley is making good progress with a scheme designed to maintain the structural integrity of the harbour arm in the historic town of Hastings on the Sussex coast.

Links between Mackley and the University of Brighton continue to strengthen, with a delegation of first year civil engineering students visiting the Shoreham Adur Tidal Walls in December.

Mackley is working in partnership with Team Van Oord’s Dutch partner, Van Oord, on a project to provide improved protection for a wastewater outfall pipe on England’s north east coast.
