Work to install two electric vehicle charging points at Mackley’s headquarters at Small Dole is now complete.
The charging points, which are operational and ready to use, are designed to help all Mackley employees make more environmentally friendly transport choices.
This is the first in a series of green initiatives to be rolled out in the coming months as Mackley looks to cut its carbon footprint.
David Knapp, Mackley’s Business Development Manager, said: “Our Health Safety and Environment Policy includes a commitment to reduce our impact upon the environment.
“Our sites operate to best practice standards and all of our site managers receive environmental awareness training.
“The installation of these electric car charging points will benefit all employees – and hopefully encourage more of them to make greener transport choices.”
Government statistics, published earlier this year, show that the number of ultra low emission vehicles (ULEVs) registered for the first time rose by 20% in Great Britain during 2018.
The 63,000 ULEVs made up 2.2% of all new registrations.
