Mackley is proud to support a UK-wide mental health initiative, taking place on 6 February, as part of ongoing efforts to maintain the mental and physical welfare of its employees.
Mental health problems affect one in four people, yet many are made to feel isolated, ashamed and worthless because of this.
Time to Talk Day, which takes place on 6 February, encourages everyone to be more open about mental health – to talk, to listen, to change lives.
The initiative is encouraging people to use the popular game ‘Would you rather?’ to help break the ice and get the conversation flowing.
In support, Mackley is hosting a Mental Health Awareness session – which will provide the opportunity to pick up tips on starting the conversation about mental health. It will cover:
- Spotting the signs
- Starting the conversation
- Supporting a colleague returning to work
- My colleague seems to be stressed a lot
- Someone I manage has a mental health problem
David Knapp, Mackley’s Business Development Manager, said: “The mental wellbeing of our employees is of paramount importance to Mackley.
“While the stigma surrounding mental health continues to diminish, there are still many who find it hard to talk about their feelings.
“Through support for initiatives such as Time to Talk Day, we aspire to create a warm environment for our employees, which enables those going through difficult times to seek help and advice.”
