Mackley at Brighton Pride 2022

A bit of a first for Mackley this year as we loaned one of our HGVs to Brighton Pride. As the sun was shining and this was the first Pride after 2 years because of Covid, this year’s celebrations were pretty huge! Revellers attended in their thousands and packed the streets as the parade made its way through Brighton.

Our vehicle was used by 4 railway companies; Great Northern Trains, Gatwick Express, Southern Rail and Thameslink, who earlier in the day had decorated and transformed it into what we think was possibly the best looking float in the whole parade. They then danced and sang on the back all the way round as the crowds joined in, bringing the whole concept of Pride to life.

We are committed to flying the flag for inclusivity, acceptance and support and we are so pleased that we were able to play such a part in one of Brighton’s biggest events of the year. With our work many years ago on the West Pier, our i360 project, Black Rock Sea Wall, shingle recharge and future work at the marina, we are sustaining our legacy as a main recognised contractor in Brighton.

Big thanks to Malcolm for arranging our involvement in the celebrations and for so carefully driving the vehicle in the parade. We’re already looking forward to next year!
