Mackley signs up to The 5% Club

Mackley is delighted to make a commitment to increase the number of earn and learn positions – such as apprenticeships – at the company over the next five years.

Mackley has signed up to The 5% Club, an industry related scheme which aims to increase further the number, quality and range of earn and learn opportunities across the UK.

By joining The 5% Club, members aspire to achieve 5% of their workforce in earn and learn positions (including apprentices, sponsored students and graduates on formalised training schemes) within five years of joining.

As members of The 5% Club, Mackley is also:

  • Committed to helping the country’s growth agenda and acknowledge the importance of developing our people as both a business and social imperative
  • Playing our part in addressing youth unemployment and skills shortage
  • Measuring and reporting on our progress annually against the above metric in our Corporate Social Responsibility section of our Annual Report and Accounts or equivalent document
  • Committed to encouraging other businesses to participate in the campaign.

David Knapp, Mackley’s Business Development Manager, said: “At Mackley we are passionate about supporting the next generation of the construction and civil engineering industry.

“With exciting plans for growth and expansion already being realised, we are always looking for people with the ambition to further their career and help continue to drive the company forward.

“We believe that by joining The 5% Club, we will play a role in Britain’s long term prosperity, benefiting both society and Britain’s place in the world. We are committed to achieving progress.”
