Mackley has seen its ‘dedication and ongoing commitment’ to its employees recognised through Silver level accreditation awarded by Investors in People (IIP).

Around 40 members of the IOSH South Downs Branch recently experienced an ‘enjoyable, interesting and informative site visit’ to see a flood alleviation scheme being carried out by Mackley as part of Team Van Oord.

Working on behalf of the Mayor and Commonalty and Citizens of the City of London, Mackley is nearing completion of a year-long project to construct a new staircase and footbridge to the north east side of London Bridge.

Four Mackley employees successfully completed the 2016 Warrior Run on 10 April in memory of the company’s former managing director and chairman, John Mackley, who sadly passed away in November 2015.

Working on behalf of the Environment Agency and as part of Team Van Oord*, Mackely is making good progress on the latest phase of major works to maintain the sea defences between Sea Palling and Winterton in North Norfolk.

Working as part of Team Van Oord*, Mackley successfully completed repairs to the damaged sea defences at Southsea in the agreed timescale, and the promenade re-opened in time for the Easter weekend.

A scheme delivered by Mackley working as part of Team Van Oord and on behalf of the Environment Agency has been named a finalist in two categories of the prestigious 2016 Constructing Excellence in London and South East Awards.

In addition to the official awards bestowed on the Broomhill Sands Coastal Defence Scheme*, the project team has also received a number of accolades from colleagues within the Environment Agency.

Mackley is making good progress on the first phase of a long-term project to provide enhanced protection to Bournemouth beach.

Mackley and Team Van Oord are working in partnership with the environmental conservation company, Pro-Earth, to develop a marine boom specifically for use in fast-flowing water and tidal flows.
