Good progress is being made on a scheme which once complete will reduce the flood risk to the historic market town of Romsey in Hampshire.

Nearly 2,000t of stone has been used to complete a project to protect a key terminal at the Port of Southampton from the threat of scour erosion.

Mackley has made a third donation of old timber groynes, extracted from a project in Selsey, to a local charity – where they will be used to improve the communal garden.

A project to deliver upgraded chemical storage to five water treatment works in Surrey, Kent and south London remains ongoing – with works at two sites complete.

Mackley has started work on a three-month project to improve the sea defences protecting a popular holiday destination on the Essex coast.

The Shoreham Adur Tidal Walls scheme picked up the top infrastructure accolade at the grand final of the RICS Social Impact Awards, the ultimate recognition of its positive and transformational contribution to society.

Mackley, as part of an integrated delivery team on this Environment Agency project, has completed a sixth of seven weir refurbishments – as well as the installation a new fish pass – on the River Wey in Surrey.

Mackley is currently carrying out two shingle recharges at Rye and Seaford on the East Sussex coast, projects which will help to maintain sea defences.
