The view out to sea at Brighton is not complete without the wistful but beautiful sight of what remains of the iconic West Pier. It is a firm favourite of both locals and tourists but holds an eventful and dramatic history.

We have two projects on the go on Brighton Beach at the moment, the construction of a new sea defence wall and shingle recharge works, but we were recently called upon to help out with something else unrelated to either of them.

Mackley has been awarded the contract with Seacon Group and their designers Robert West to construct a new approach jetty to support continued operations at Seacon’s deep-water berth at Tower Wharf, Northfleet.
